According to Margaret Rouse (2014), that project planning is a discipline for stating how to complete a project within a certain timeframe, usually with defined stages, and with designated resources. Ghanaian road construction project is one of the example of poor project planning. The main reasons for bad project planning is because of delay from the expected finish date and cost overruns during the construction project. Another cause of the failure of the road projects in Ghana is due to limited budgeted cost from both the Government and the road agencies. Not only that, the construction faces limited on construction materials which resulting for delay on construction working. It is clearly showed that all the management method such as Project planning were ignored or not implemented in this Ghana construction project. That is why project planning is needed in order to control and monitor all the project management performances. Therefore, Project planning should be set up to improve the project performance in order to avoid delay and cost problems in road construction projects.
