According to the world renowned philosopher Aristotle’s and his notion of living well which he called eudaimonia, was the way in which we as humans are to live our lives in conformity to the virtues we believe in.

One of the virtues that he believed was with the most important is the placement of friendships in our lives, which he also states was a crucial component for achieving the virtuous life that we all desire to have. Aristotle stated that , “A discussion of friendship would naturally follow, since it is a virtue or implies virtue, and is besides most necessary with a view of living. For without friends no one would choose to live, though he had all other goods” (Nicomachean Ethics of Aristotle: Book IX. Friendship).

Through this we are able to see that  Aristotle views the element of  friendship as a highly regarded aspect of a person’s life in order for them to achieve their morality and happiness that they wished to have. “the friendship of good men is good, being augmented by their companionship; and they are thought to become better by their activities and by improving each other; for from each other they take the mold of the characteristics they approve” (Nicomachean Ethics of Aristotle: Book IX. Friendship). By this the connection between the friendship that person holds with others and their moral virtue is evident, it is seen as a fundamental connection of the other virtues that have or had not been completed. For Aristotle who sought to see the flourishing of humans believed in more than just being involved with other and believing in their progression that we as humans hold to our ultimate progression that we hold.

Aristotle was determined to prove the virtue of harmony happiness but strongly rejected the regularly assumed notion that consisted of what was good for us as human and rather not what is more acceptable to us, or that which is morally right and noble which is seen as sometimes neither associated with good or better.
