Explain how the LTSM can be a bridge between the learner and reality
In the following text firstly I will be explaining the importance of the LTSM. Secondly I will be explaining how the LTSM close the gap between the learner and reality. Thirdly I will be discussing how LTSM can accommodate all types of learners with different skills from different backgrounds and lastly I will be discussing how education has improved as we have seen that education is no longer the same like before and it keeps changing from time to time.

The importance of LTSM
According to Soetan et al. (2010), graphics includes charts, posters, ketches, cartoons, graphs and drawings. Drawing and graphs make learning and teaching more easier and it contains facts, ideas and words. Through visual material, the teacher is able to capture the attention and interest of learning from the learners (Onasanya and Adwgbbija, 2007). Okpala et al. (1998).
The LTSM plays avital role in learning process as it creates effective leaning and teaching, also for achieving the learning outcomes without any distraction in the class. For example, if there is a shortage of text books class. The classroom setup changes, where learners need to seat in pairs to try and share textbooks. In that way it becomes difficult to maintain discipline in class and learning might end up not effective, meaningful and the teacher might end up not achieving the learning outcomes.
How LTSM can accommodate all type of learners with different study skills
In each and every class there are different types of learners with different learning skills. We have visual learners who prefers seeing what they are being taught about, we have auditory learners who learn through sound or hearing, we have kinaesthetic learners who learn through touching. So in class if all the right meaningful resources are there, the teacher will be able to cater for all the needs of the learners and learning will be effective. For example, the teacher can present a lesson with a video in class to accommodate visual and auditory learners.

How does the LTSM close the gap between the learner and reality
Well they say being a teacher is not only about standing in front of learners and sharing your knowledge, it is also about reaching the heart and mind of the learner. You can only reach the heart of the learner by taking the leading role as the mediator in the transmission of the learning content. You can only reach the mind of the learner by ensuring that the learning content meets the needs of the learners by organizing and selecting various study material and resources in order to make the learning meaningful for all different learners from different backgrounds. So if teachers are able to capture the heart and mind of the learner, they are able to close the gap between the learner and reality. For example, the teacher can create a positive learning atmosphere and make sure that when presenting a lesson it does not leave any learner ‘s needs unserved.
LTSM is able to close the gap between the learner and reality in terms of the schools that are situated in the rural areas. Most learners in the rural areas are not exposed to lot of technical things that are involved in education. Through the LTSM, teachers are able to use the resources to show the learners what he/she is talking about. For example, the teacher might be teaching about a computer in class. In a rural areas and there are certain disadvantaged learners who have never seen a computer. So using pictures, the teacher can be able to show learners what a computer looks like. This actually gives learners a better understanding of what they are being taught about. This also close a gap between advantaged learners and disadvantaged learners.

LTSM in schools make all learners to be equal and that will lead to equal good results because they will be cooperated in all spheres of learning. For example, if all learners all have texts books in class, all learners can be able to write any given work even those who are disadvantaged. Through LTSM learners are able access equal resources. This actually serve the promise of the Department of education which says education should be equal.

LTSM makes education to be accessible and equal for everyone. It is now not difficult for learners to do a research because of access to internet. Learners now have tablets with internet so even those who cannot afford smart phones are able to do a research or any given work which needs internet.

How has education been improved
Studies prove that in the past teachers did not have much of resources to use for teaching so instead they were using the ”chalk-talk” method. This method was based on using words in stating facts and ideas when teaching. They did not have relevant resource to stimulate the interest of leaning and giving a better understanding of the lesson (onasanya et al,. 2008). In our days the standard of education has been improved in an extent that resources have been introduced which makes it easier for the teacher to share knowledge. The resources reduce the ”chalk-talk” method and make learning more interesting as the teacher can be able to state the facts, ideas and yet be able to present them using diagrams, pictures and sketches.

It has been said that about 20-30 years ago books had black and white images, they were using fonts which were difficult to be used. Books were used as the only source of learning material. Now that technology has improved education has also improved, unlike before books are now colourful which stimulate the interest of the learners and visual learners are able to get a better understanding through pictures without having to read. Now there are various fonts which support different facts and emotions in the texts.

In conclusion I have managed to clearly discus the how the LTSM close the gap between learner and reality, I have also managed to discuss the importance of LTSM and how education has before it improved. Therefore, I have come to conclusion that as time and government changes, education also changes. The department needs to do something about shortage of learning material in school as it makes learning and teaching to be difficult.
