You are the president of the robotic Club in your school. You would like to present a speech entitled: ‘Keeping Robot Pet Is More Practical than Raising Real Pets’ at school assembly and compare the two types of pets. Good Morning to the Principal , teachers and fellow students. My name is Rose Benitar and as the president of the Robotics Club, I would like to present a speech entitled ‘Keeping Robot Pets Is More Practical than Raising Real Pets’. I am sure many of you have pets. In this day and age , people keep all kinds of pets, including domesticated animals, exotic animals, artificial pets and even virtual pets.
Keeping pets offers us a form of relaxation and construct means of escapism. While most people are used to keeping live animals as pets, I would like to propose a more practical alternative: robotic pets. Traditional pet require a lot devotion, effort and time ; things which are lacking, especially in this demanding day and age. We are all busy people. It would be cruel if we were cruel if we were to keep live pets only to end up neglecting them. Alternatively, if we were to keep robot pets, we can be free from many cumbersome burdens yet to enjoy the experience of having a pet.
Robot pets need not be fed. Robot pets need not be fed. They run on batteries or solar cells and all we need to do is either replace the batteries or recharge them. In addition, cybernetic pets can be switched on when we need and off when we are not playing with them to save energy. This is convenient as the pet does not get in the way of our other routine activities. Cybernetic pets not require grooming or regular visits to the vet. They also do not mess up the place. This will save us the hassle of training our pets or sending them for house-training schools.
Some of the latest innovations in robot pet technology include with pets that can intelligently interact with their owners in many ways; including talking, voice recording and mood sensing. The greatest disappointment that robot pets help us avert is the death of a pet. When our pets die, it brings us great sorrow. Non-living pets however do not die. If they malfunction, they can be repaired or serviced. If our pet outdated, it can be upgraded or replaced without any feelings of guilt attached. As such, I strongly recommend that you will consider keeping robot pets instead of real ones when your lifestyle is strenuous.
Moreover, it is the trend in this age of science and technology. At the same time, you can avoid neglecting live animals due to your hectic schedule. Thank you and have a nice day. I also hope that you will forgive me for taking a longer time than usual to reply you letter. I had actually been away on a holiday for the past two weeks. My two brothers and I went to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park in Sabah, It was an unforgettable trip indeed! If you’re not familiar with the place ,Tunku Abdul Rahman Park is situated about 3 to 8 kilometres from Kota Kinabalu. It is comprised of five islands located in an area of the 4929 hectares. However, about two thirds of this area is sea. The five island are Mamutik, Sulug, Manukan, Sapi and Gaya.
My family and I put up at a chalet at Mamutik Island. The experience of staying in the park was like living in paradise. Everything was so tranquil and picturesque and every activity we did seemed so special because the place quite magical and dreamlike. We spent our time island-hopping, scuba diving ,shopping for souvenirs ,boating, and simply admiring the admiring the amazing scenery. I felt that words simply are not good enough to describe the wonderful underwater scenery, the various corals and colourful fishes – that is why I have included a few pictures as well.
I really enjoyed myself and I hope to return to the park someday. Who knows – perhaps we could go there together ,Mike? This is where I’II have to pen off. Please keep in touch and send my warmest regards to your family. Take care and goodbye from now. Your Friend, SUHAIZA FORMAL LETTER You find that certain factors are slowly turning your neighbourhood into an unhealthy place. Write a letter to inform your local town council about what happening and request for actions to be taken to counter these problems. No 1, Opuntia Condominiums, Pond River Road, Ribu,71200 Rantau, Negeri Sembilan.
he Rantau Town Council, 71200 Rantau, Negeri Sembilan. 5 MAY 2012 Dear Sir, Unhealthy Living Conditions. With reference to the subject matter above, the level of cleanliness in the neighbourhood where I live has got from bad to worse lately. There are several reasons constributing to this factor. 2. The first reason, which is also the main one , is the irregular collection of garbage.
Sometimes, a period of two weeks lapses before the garbage truck arrives to gather up the heaps of decomposing trash. The effects of this irregular collection of garbage include an infestation of maggots and flies, stray dogs and wild monkeys tearing up the garbage bags and leaving a mess. This is a nasty sight to behold and the repugnant smells assault the senses. The glowing infestation of flies has also greatly raised the likelihood of cholera. 3. The second reason is our once safe neighbourhood has now become a breeding ground to the spread of mosquitoes of all sorts.
In addition to the water that stagnates in the uncollected garbage and the presence of several ponds, the lack of any fogging at all has brought about all sorts of mosquitoes. The risk of getting dengue fever, malaria and other mosquitoe-borne disease is growing higher by the day. 4. The third reason is the fact that grass and trees around the neighbourhood is unkept. There are field s of long thatch grass where snakes, scorpions, centipedes and other dangerous creatures could be lurking. The decorative trees along the road have just been left like that and have become an eyesore instead of being pleasing to the eye. . The fourth and final reason for this letter is we have recently discovered an illegal dumping site not very far from our neighbourhood , by a river.
Many fish and aquatic creatures have perished. We do not know who is dumping toxic waste there but we have heard strange sound of heavy machinery at night and we have found large tyre tracks next to the river. 6. On behalf of all the residents here, I hope the Town Council will take the necessary steps to remedy all the problems highlighted in this letter. I anticipate your immediate positive response. Thank you in advance.
