1.what you learned in the class This course on management allowed me a myriad of concepts and ideas that have helped me understand the dynamics and important issues surrounding organizations. In here, I was able to develop relevant ideas surrounding the theories that allow organizations to function accordingly. With this important foundation, I was then able to decipher the parameters in which such actions are applied and integrated towards practice. In here, I learned that decision making remains to be an essential component of organizations in achieving its relevant goals and objectives. By taking this component into consideration, preferred outcomes can be generated and result towards improvement and development (Segura, p.
1). At the same time, it is in here that the ability of the group to function towards achieving specific tasks and responsibilities come into place. Through the cohesion and interplay of ideas within a specific set of parameters, it can set the parameters of effective and efficient outputs. Likewise, leadership and power also comes into play as far as organizational development is concerned. I had learned several leadership styles that can be used to address an issue. It is through the commitment of each member together with the motivation and inspiration brought about by a leader can success manifest itself. Likewise, in today’s increasing diverse organizations, it is essential for the leader to note the relevance of power and use it towards the betterment of the group.
Such interplay allows the balance to be maintained and help bridge out conflicts that may come along the way. Lastly, the idea of creating an environment that is facilitative and adaptive to the trends is what I had learned in the course. Though conflict may occur within organizations, it is the ability of each member to communicate and engage in dialogue that can make the lasting impact in either helping resolve or escalate the issue.
Seeing this, it is significant that approaches be sought to address conflict and recognize the goals and objectives. These elements can serve as a guide to actively reinforce the commitment towards collaboration and cooperation among members.2. 2 or 3 ideas from class One significant idea that I appreciated in class is the value of leadership in every organization. As today’s work and professional environment becomes more and more competitive, it requires leaders who are passionate about their field and committed towards change and growth.
As a future professional, I must recognize these realities and try to apply the concepts I had learned in the course to be able to adapt accordingly to the needs of the group and organization. Moreover, I must also be keen in choosing the best style appropriate in every organization. Since there are different ways to apply leadership, it is essential that I understand the culture, values and perceptions surrounding an institution. By doing this, I can maximize on the capabilities of my members and facilitate a setting that is accountable and administrative. In this manner, the leader must also be resilient towards conflict.
Since this idea continues to occur within organizations, the ability of a leader to engage in active dialogue and conversation can help intensify the efforts in creating change (Mind Tools, p.1). At the same time, such actions can help harmonize new trends that can optimize productivity and output of each member.
Another idea I wish to address is the relevance of group dynamics in every organization. This element is essential for every organization because such area addresses the objectives and mission deemed by an organization. Under this setting, group dynamics can determine the outcome of every task and responsibility undertaken (Bizcovering, p.
1). That is why leaders or persons-in-charge must constantly seek to find ways to harmonize and intensify cooperation among groups. Mechanisms and programs must be initiated wherein motivation and creativity are addressed. Likewise, roles, communication patterns, and norms must be taken into consideration as they serve as the building blocks of every positive group dynamics (Bizcovering, p.1). Taking all of these into account can increase the outcomes for success3. how, from what you learned works? In essence, the element of communication remains an integral component in every process.
It is in here that individuals and groups decipher and connect ideas towards practice. From what I had learned in the course, the act of engaging in active dialogue can bring about avenues for change and development. In organizations and group dynamics, communication remains to be influential in making complex decisions and fostering new standards, norms, and principles that make organizations function accordingly. Due to this, such idea is taken of great importance in any scenario. Applying this in my current experiences, I feel that facilitating open communication can indeed generate the needed avenues for modification and improvement. For example, under periods of conflict, any leader or member who can engage in dialogue can help bridge differences and generate areas of consensus over issues that may seem difficult to mend. At the same time, such action can instigate the necessary avenues for creativity and productivity to occur. This can be made by allowing oneself to become open and responsive to his/her weaknesses which in turn is facilitated by the element of discourse and discussion.
Likewise, communication can serve the link towards motivation. Since in every group dynamics each individual perceives and desires for his/her needs to be addressed, opening the pathways for exchange of ideas can satisfy ones wishes. On this note, such assists in areas that can make the work or responsibility meaningful which can then result towards increased output and satisfaction. With this idea, the elements towards organizational development and group interaction can actively shape the way towards either success or failure depending on the strategy or action implemented.4. write specific Seeing this, I feel that the idea of motivation and learning in organizations can also be applied in other areas and disciplines. I feel that not only does these two terms operate under the organizational level but also in the individual and the environment he/she is in.
This is because the idea of learning and motivation is subjective among men and can be actively applied in every endeavor he/she takes part of. For example in the case of education, administrators and teachers take into consideration the relevance of learning and motivation because these serve as the building blocks towards competency and capability of an individual. By allowing these two ideas to become prevalent, educational institutions can achieve their prescribed objectives and pave the way for success to occur. Looking at its application, motivation and learning can be implemented depending on the ability and style imposed by an educator or administrator. Under this process, each party tries to find ways that can maximize the potential of each student via programs that are geared towards enhancing the curriculum and instruction provided to students. Moreover, these people serve as leaders in creating various approaches that can increase motivation. Under this process, teachers continuously find ways to relate the subject content towards the needs of students and effectively point out new ways to administer change amidst the presence of mandates and standards.
Seeing this, the idea of motivation and learning goes beyond the scope of organizations as it both applies to individuals and other sectors such as education.
