THESIS STATEMENT: I believe that Friar Lawrence is the most responsible for the death’s of Romeo and Juliet. If Friar Lawrence didn’t tell Juliet about making a plan of her faking her own death so that she will nd ot marry Count Paris. Maybe Romeo and Juliet would still be alive and could have ran away together to get married by Friar Lawrence instead of Juliet going along with Lawrence plan and actually dieing at the end. Also it is the Messenger’s fault too because the messenger should of immediately told Romeo about the plan Friar Lawrence and Juliet agreed to make.
In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is exiled from Verona by the Prince for killing Tybalt. Capulet misinterpreting Juliet’s grief , she agrees for her and Count Paris to marry but if Juliet refuses then she will be denied by her own mother. As Juliet visits Friar Lawrence for help she tells him the problems she is having so Lawrence tells her a plan to get rid of all her problems. Friar Lawrence offers her a drug that put her in a deathlike coma for two or forty hours INTRO: Who do you think was responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet?
Juliet was grieving over Romeo being exiled out of Verona by the Prince for killing Tybalt but Capulet thought she had grief over marrying Count Paris, So Capulet agreed on the wedding and if Juliet refuses the marriage then she will be denied by her own mother. So Juliet visited Friar Lawrence and he offered her a drug that would send her into a deathlike coma and he would then send a messenger to inform Romeo about the plan but the messenger never showed to tell Romeo so now Romeo believe Juliet has actually died.
So Friar Lawrence and the Messenger was responsible for the death of the two loved ones. BODY 1: Tybalt was Juliets cousin and when Tybalt seen Romeo sneak into the ball so he challenges him to duel, Mercutio was offended by Tybalt insolence and Romeo’s vile submission that Mercutio accepts the duel on Romeo’s behalf. As Mercutio and and Tybalt faught, Mercutio was fatally wounded as Romeo attempted to break up the fight. Romeo grief-stricken and wracked with guilt about Mercutio’s death that he went to confront Tybalt but they both ended up into a duel and Tybalt was slayed on the streets of Verona.
The Prince was filled with angered about now having lost a kinsmans, in the warring family feud that the Prince exiles Romeo from Verona. BODY 2: Now that Romeo cannot return to Verona , he lives hidden inside one of Friar Lawrences tombs. Juliet found out that her cousin Tybalt was killed by her one true love but with one of her family members being slayed she showed no pity towards the death. She only had grief over Romeo being exiled from Verona because now she has no Idea on how they are going to be Married in secret and now he is gone.
Capulet seen Juliet grieving so she agreed to start the marriage between Count Paris and Juliet, but if she refuses to marry the Count then Capulet will disown her. BODY 3: Juliet visited Friar Lawrence for help so he decided to help her with the problems she is having by offering a drug that would send her into a deathlike coma for two and forty hours. On the night before their wedding she take the drug, and then was discovered dead so she was laid to rest in the family crypt. BODY 4: Since Romeo was never informed about the plan , he learned about the death of Juliet from his servant Balthasar and he though it actually happened. Romeo went to the apothecary to buy poison then made his way to the crypt to see Juliets body one last time. Once Romeo showed up to the crypt he encounters Paris who had come to mourn Juliet privately, Paris confronted Romeo knowing hat Romeo was a vandal so the confrontation ended into a duel and Paris being killed by Romeo. The feuding family and Prince went to the tomb and found all three of them dead so Friar Lawrence confessed to them about the story of the two lovers, Finally the reconciled their children’s death and stop the violence between the families.
Conclusion: To Conclude, I believe the Families, Messenger and Friar Lawrence was responsible for the deaths of the two lovers Romeo and Juliet. I believe if it wasn’t for the feud between the family and the messenger not sending Romeo the plan that Juliet and Friar Lawrence agreed on also if Friar Lawrence did not give the drug to Juliet then the Romeo and Juliet would still be alive and would have ran away together so they could get married.
