Secondary data sources of the study were collected from reports, manuals, proclamations, regulations, internets, additional works of various authors and other published and unpublished documents such as books, articles; journal sand suggestion boxes. These sources were chosen to crosscheck the data collected from primary sources.
3.6 Data Gathering Instrument
To achieve the objective of this study the following data gathering instruments were used
3.6.1 Quantitative Data Gathering Instrument
3.6.1.1 Questionnaire
Questionnaire is one of the popular data gathering tools that enable to collect data from different large numbers of respondents. The researcher used questionnaires to collect quantitative data from selected two kebele residents.
This data gathering tool helped the researcher to address many respondents in a reasonably short time and respondents have adequate time to give well answers. Close ended and open ended type of the questionnaire was designed for respondents in order to give opportunities to express their perceptions and intentions related to the practices and challenges of solid waste management. The reason using both types of questionnaire has the advantage of collecting information from different perspectives. Open ended questionnaires used to enable respondents to give their ideas and information’s freely without feeling discomfited by any one while close ended questionnaire were used to enable respondents to choose from the ranges of possible choices provided in the questionnaire. The questionnaire were prepared in English language and then translated into the Amharic to solve communication barriers
