“The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson and “The Rocking-Horse Winner” by D.H. Lawrence there was underlying morals in these two stories. Some would have had to read them completely in order to see what those morals were. On the other hand, some may have seen that it was coming half way in the story. These authors show through fiction just how much greed can completely destroy a family and how someone can die if you choose luck over love.
“The Lottery” is a very simple story that the setting is in a small town. Every year in this town, someone is stoned to death in order for this town to have their harvest.
