he Sims 3, The Sims 3 Adventures, The Sims 3 Ambitions, The Sims 3 Late Night, The Sims 3 Generations, The Sims 3 Pets and The Sims 3 Showtime, add them together and what do you get? Six hundred dollars worth of computer games. No, just kidding.
This holiday, I made a marvellous discovery by purchasing and playing these games for four days straight. Please do not judge. I do have a life.
I watched The Hunger Games twice!!!In the act of lazily lounging back on my gigantic leather couch like a drone while choosing the personality traits for my Sim, a light bulb suddenly went off over my head. The epiphany made me realise that people play The Sims to experience a desired way of life but are unable to pursue due to fears of negative consequences. This is because in the game, if they mess up, they can always start over by hitting the reset button. But my dear friends, if you were able to hit the reset button in real life, then you would be looking at attending year one again at the age of god-knows-how-old-you-are. As many say there is only one chance in life to make it right, so start making the right choice today. Because if not, anti-aging cream will not be that effective and bone-shrinking surgery will never be an option. No one will be able to afford it.
Why would anyone ask for it if they could afford it anyway? They’d obviously taken their lives seriously to become money magnets. Just wave the Midas Hand and the whole world will bow before their feet.Money is the key to success and happiness. This is another fact I familiarised myself with during one of my very intriguing ‘play session’.
After creating my Sim and purchasing it an exquisitely ram-shackled house, I started to bawl my eyes out. It had only $2000 left in its assets. With only $2000, it couldn’t even afford the most economical television. Oh wait; I still had an option left. I could make it study hard for job promotions to get a better pay. Overall, the reality was, the more money the Sim made, the better life it could have. The better life the Sim had, the happier it would be.
You see how this relates to the future of humans? Without money, decent education would be scarce. Without a decent education, people would be looking at making $13.50 per hour. Not everyone can be multimillionaires like Ellen DeGeneres or Simon Cowell who completely failed high school but managed to escape through the silver lining of the dark clouds.
Bunking school so you can passionately make out with your boyfriend in “sexy” lingerie on Manchester Street will not get you far in life. Yes, some may say money cannot buy you happiness but life is momentaneous so good luck being happy when you make $300 per week while others make $1000 per week. Our lives are short. Yet as precious as the golden eggs Jack brought down from the bean stalk.
Sandi French was a lovely, charming and simpatico young Sim who mastered the athletics skills to save the lives of others. She died as a hero who bluntly assaulted ferocious fires with courageous water. BAM! Her sudden death was shocking.
It made me realise how our lives are so brief in existence and many of us waste it by waiting for our Prince Charming to come and save us while being trapped in the top of the horrendous tower by the evil queen. No guys, how many times do I have to tell you? It is not going to bloody happen! Even the almighty Benjamin Franklin knew “God help those who help themselves”. Time is of the essence. At the end of the day, do not be deceived by the calendar because life goes by in a flash. Make the most of it. Oh and, most importantly, do not follow my example by playing The Sims for four days straight while I go and pick up another video game from the shelf.
