The way we perceive the world is constantly being altered because of personal view of text with emotions and experience offered by powerful visual imagery that helps to reshape the responder’s perception of how the world is viewed. John Misto, the creator of the 1996 play “The Shoe-Horn Sonata” explores these visual signals to highlight the traumatic past of World War ll through close friends, Bridie and Sheila while incorporating dramatic techniques to enhance the emotional struggles of being in a prison camp. Comparable to Kenneth Slessor poem “Beach Burial “displays depiction of bodies being washed on the beach during night, revealing the graphic nature of Kenneth personal life. Both text convey the endurance of their human experience which allows us audience to immerse into a darker reality.
